The foundations will be Engineer designed reinforced concrete or Ground Screws depending on ground conditions and access.
The floor is insulted with 50mm Kingspan or similar with a vapour barrier and 22mm chipboard deck to take your choice of floor finish. Skirting boards are fitted following floor coverings to get a clean finish to the edges.
The external walls are designed using best practice from Timber Frame House Building.
The exterior is finished in 19mm wood in a choice of finish usually Cedar or Larch. A wide variety of finishes is offered.
The wall construction is made up of:
- Choice of cladding
- 25 by 38 mm treated latts
- Timber frame breathable membrane
- 11mm OSB board on 47 by 100 C16 timber
- Insulated with 100mm fibreglass
- Covered with 25mm kingspan to stop cold bridging
- Vapour barrier with taped joints
- 12.5 mm plasterboard and skim
The roof is made up from:
- 47 by 150mm joists often acting as cantilevers for the canopy or canopies
- 22mm OSB tongue and grooved boards
- Choice of fibreglass or Ruberoid roof finish
- 100 mm thick Kingspan to between the joists
- Vapour barrier to link with wall barrier
- Plasterboard and skim
